W. Theiss Hard- and Software develops software for optical analysis and design of multilayer coatings. Powerful optical modelling techniques are used to characterize thin film deposition, to design new coating products and to control production lines. Advanced program features are controlled by flexible and intuitive user-interfaces.
Typical fields of application are coatings on glass for buildings and cars, thin film solar cells and selective absorbers for solar energy conversion. Our software is used to analyze measured optical spectra (any combination of reflectance, transmittance and ellipsometry) in order to determine optical constants of the deposited materials. These are then used in the design phase to develop the best coating for the application. Finally, the deposition of the coating product in large area or batch coaters can be optically monitored with the help of our software tools. ln addition to rather indirect quantities like Light Transmittance of the color coordinates L*, a* and b* our monitoring solutions determine layer thickness and layer composition parameters, providing information which can be directly converted to deposition parameter corrections.
Our products can be integrated into automation solutions (LabView, for example) as OLE automation servers. Alternatively, TCP/IP communication or data exchange with SQL databases can be used.
ln addition to our software products we offer complete measurement systems including suitable hardware components.
