Braunschweig – a leading center of research and development in the middle of Germany
Braunschweig the city of Henry the Lion has approx. 250.000 inhabitants and is the biggest city located between Hannover and Berlin. It is characterized by an appealing and exciting blend of the past and the present, tradition and progress.
The city has been given it´s distinctive profile by the constant development of it´s cultural, research and technology scenes and presents a panorama with a huge variety of culture, history and economical richness.
Braunschweig is a home for research: Scientists such as Carl Friedrich Gauß or Agnes Pockels are evidence of a long science tradition. Today Braunschweig is one of the most intensive regions for research and development and has the highest density of scientists.
Over 18.000 young people study in Braunschweig – approx. 10.000 of them in technical fields. In 27 renowned research institutions and 250 high-tech companies teach, research and work bright minds from Braunschweig.
